My Newest Challenge … RAGBRAI!

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Everyone needs challenges in life. I’m not talking about the unwanted challenges in life. Like me trying a home repair.  I’m talking about setting a goal and  going after it.

I’ve set a new goal for myself. A physical challenge which far exceeds any physical challenge I have ever tried before.  And, I’m no spring chicken.

I plan on entering RAGBRAI next year.

RAGBRAI®, The Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa®, is an annual seven-day bicycle ride across the state. Heading into its 37th year, RAGBRAI is the longest, largest and oldest touring bicycle ride in the world.

That’s right, I plan on biking across Iowa. Not  biking however. Last summer I purchased a Sun Tricycle.

You got it. I plan on triking across Iowa.  I have already started training. Let’s face it, I will be 59 when I complete this journey. I better start training now.

When I said I was going to run for Mayor and win. I did.

When I said I was going to write a local politics book. I did.

Now,  I am going to trike across Iowa.

Anyone want to bet against me?

What is your latest challenge?
