The price is even negotiable.

First there is the thought to purchase as many signs as you can afford and ask everyone if they would like one in their yard.

The second philosophy is to order a limited supply and only place signs in yards that request a sign.

I subscribe to the second philosophy. I never wanted someone to ask who had one of my signs why they had one, and the answer would be, “I was asked and didn’t want to say no.”

I wanted my signs to say the resident of that home actually supported me and was ready to defend the sign.

I attended a county government meeting this morning where a DNR expert was testifying. Not real exciting stuff. In order to follow his testimony you needed to really concentrate on what he was saying.

In other words, it was no place for a whimpering baby to be breaking your concentration. But there was one there doing exactly that.

Geez.

Don’t know what to do when there isn’t enough snow banks to hold the signs and the ground is still frozen?

A hammer and screwdriver are two essential campaign tools. Yes, a hammer and screwdriver.

Pounding on the screwdriver until it is at least 6 six inches into the ground makes perfect holes to place the wire legs of the sign.

(And remember please, to keep them out of the street right of way.)

It is absolutely shameless that our leaders (and I use that term very loosely) have allowed the Post Office to get in the financial position it is today.

This “solution” to the Post Office’s  financial problem is to rip these small communities of their last thread of identity and pride.

There has to be a better way.

There just has to be.

I agree it is “their money.” But, I believe their anger was misplaced. They should be angry at the government for making the tax code so convoluted the regular taxpayer has to go a place such as H & R Block to have their taxes computed.

A Democrat who overheard the question answered it by snidely saying “he’s a Republican, that’s why.” When I responded that “no I am not a member of the Republican Party” he was startled. When I further said I would be honored to do the same for Congressman Duffy’s opponent Pat Kreitlow, he stared at me and shook his head in total disbelief.

All politics aside, we have two good guys running for the same position. Personally I have no problem saying that I like them both.

It is sad that some believe that shouldn’t be allowed.

(I got the job because a former colleague of mine works for the Congressman and recommended me.)
