Political Puppies II
I posted earlier the blog of some Political Puppies from Wittenberg University. They are in the Eau Claire/Chippewa Falls area this summer doing intern work and learning about the politics of the Chippewa Valley.
I was excited to find their blog but concerned that they would "hold back" on their thoughts. I was wrong. In the latest posts they unload on the local political process. Comments such as the following showed me that they really are learning about local politics.
"These elected officials had clearly not done their homework, as some of them even needed clarification and explanations on things they had already passed!"
"The debate was usually quite eloquent, despite some really stupid and false statements scattered in between."
These future Local Government Professionals are getting a true look at local politics in action. Even if you don't care if Eau Claire County builds a new jail or not, their insight into the process is fresh and uninhibited.
Next time I'm in the Chippewa Valley I might try to look up a couple of these students.
